Alfa Romeo has been around for quite some time, the Italian automaker began its work back in June 24, 1910 in Milan, Italy. The automaker began by purchasing its main factory building from the French automaker Darracq that was closing down and selling its assets. The factory changed its name by 1915 to ALFA, short for Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili that translates to Lombardian Car Factory and the last name of the person who took control of the company Nicola Romeo. From the start the brand was focused on keeping its Italian heritage and elegant vehicles on top of the market.
The first mass-produced Alfa Romeo was the 1955 Giulietta Spider, designed by Sergio Pininfarina. Many other designers included Elio Zagato who designed the first Giulietta racing version, Franco Scaglione who made the legendary Alfa Romeo 33 Stradle. A classic vehicle that will soon return with an exclusive 33 units. The new design exemplifies Alfa Romeo’s elegance, balanced proportions, aerodynamic lines and of course its Italian heritage. The new 33 Stradale will be available in two different options, the first being a V-6 twin-turbo engine delivering more than 620 horsepower, and the second is a BEV configuration that will deliver more than 750 horsepower.
All 33 exclusive units of the iconic 22 Stradale have been reserved. Fans can hope to catch on flying down the street or at an auto show. As Alfa Romeo continues to push forward, the brand awaits its first introduction into the brand’s first plug-in hybrid SUV. The 2024 Tonale will feature a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) 2.0-liter engine, generate 256 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, making it one of the most powerful SUVs in its segment.
